Advocacy

The US Women’s Caucus advocates for gender equality and the well-being of women and girls by issuing statements on current issues, contacting US government officials, posting on social media, holding panel discussions, and seeking to influence the content of the annual Agreed Conclusions, the outcome document of the UN Commission on the Status of Women.  The Caucus advocates for women and girls in the US as well as abroad, aiming to include every race, ethnicity, social class, age, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity, as well as those with disabilities.

US ISSUES

The US Women’s Caucus advocates for feminist policies across the US at the federal, state, and local level through our network of activists and NGOs.  The Caucus is committed to supporting legislation to advance the human rights of women and girls residing in the United States.  The Caucus advocates for passage of the Equal Rights Amendment, ratification of CEDAW, and legislation on childcare, paid parental leave, access to medical care, and other issues.  The Caucus is committed to racial equity and fair treatment for women and girls of all backgrounds and circumstances.

Ever since the US Supreme Court overturned the protections of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, the US Women’s Caucus has responded with statements, tweets, and resources. We deplore the Supreme Court’s rollback of women’s human rights and stand in solidarity with women across the US fighting for access to abortion services.
